Thank you all for all the suggestions, I don’t live with her so I’ll have to try out all your suggestions when I visit / if she has time for a Remote Desktop session with me.

I’ll double check this, I think it’s just intel integrated but it will be good to check.

4. I’m not sure, but the monitor is clearly on with the black screen backlit during the issue.

It only happens while she is using the computer. I also turned off sleep mode to rule that out.

Hmm maybe I can see if it can be configured to only do security patches and feature updates can be done manually.

I thought it would be good to enable this to ensure security issues are patched. But maybe I should turn that off?
