My 4g router has a phone number but you can’t install APKs on it.

Need to start obscuring what is installed on devices. Terminal based communication and host it on a remote server that you connect to with SSH so when they inspect your phone there is nothing there.

At least if I had something to hide I would be way ahead of dumb laws like this.

So does it just mean you can’t use any of those apps if you use them on PC/tablet? Wonder if that would be big enough of a driver to push people to use something else for communication

Should include walking/cycling but health benefits are harder to factor in as I am pretty sure the risk of death is lower than the health benefits.

Pretty sure trains are much safer for passengers. But they get more suicides on the rails.

How the fuck are ferry and train so high? Must be including suicides for trains, not really use how the ferry gets so much though. Heart attacks on long distance ferry trips? But then would expect similar from planes.

I could see a black mirror 15 million merits type of society. Pointless work for pointless pay. But gotta keep the poors in a position that they get something they want from their meaningless work even if it’s got no real value but they want the shiny.

Share a house and you can do very little work. You could take it pretty far too. Think of those capsule hotels, could fit loads of capsules in my current bedroom even if you want to have your own capsule - sharing can further increase population. Less than 20 hours of work a month for static fees (mortgage, tax) per person. Food is about 4 hours of work a month. Heating wont change, though you will use more hot water for washing, probably 2-5 hours of work for energy and water.

All essentials covered, less than 30 hours of work a month required per person. Basing this on my expenses in the UK and minimum wage.

And who will buy the results of their labour?

Its at least possible to store a bike inside your house, I live in a UK sized house (60m²) and my bike lives inside. How much does 1 person need? For the 2 of us a weeks shopping comfortably fits in 2 standard size shopping bags, my bike has pannier bags on the back that are larger than that and you can always get a longtail or even a full cargo bike if you need more space.

Clearly one of those horrible anarchotankapalists.

I don’t mind it if the models are open for anyone to use in any way they see fit. If you trained it off public works and made it available to everyone, I am ok with that.

Ill raise your 2001 car with my pedal bike, and I do all the maintenance myself. Cars contribute far too much towards the economy, a bike may actually be the cheapest form of transport. Even compared to walking. Last time I looked at it, typically walking wears through shoes faster than cycling wears through bikes on a cost/mile basis.

I haven’t intentionally got a phone to upgrade in well over a decade. I get a new phone because the last one no longer works in some way that matters enough that I will go and get a new one to replace it. The most expensive phone I have ever bought is a Pinephone.
