to little, not late. Been a avid windows user since `95, used all of them up to 11 no exception, pivoted 3 years ago to linux, and at this point there is literally not a thing that will bring me back. Linux is 1000x better for me, free of charge, more polished, faster, better looking, no BS, and if there IS any bs, i can move to another distro that i like. There is literally not a single thing. Those kernel level anti cheat games… fuck em, i got 1000’s of games to play that work on steam and gog and uplay and battle.net and all other platforms flawlessly no problem and been waiting to play em.

If I was a console gamer I would have already stocked on all older consoles with all the disks, hacked a secondary console just because and move to PC for main online gaming. Let them suffer. Let them loose money.

But that would never happen. People will not stop buying. Sadly.

I was dabbling for ~10+ years with Linux out of curiosity, but I was heavily invested in windows since 95. I used and liked vista, survived windows 8, but the moment everything started moving towards big brother I had enough. I was in the early access program and the insider program and I hated the idea of recall. The moment it came out in an early access program it was hacked less than 2 hour in the program, and all data could be extracted from the pictures as banking etc. Thus negating the need of complex viruses, you simply have the data in front of you. Then copilot… The fact that is deeply integrated in to everything like file explorer will break if you try yo remove it etc. I just realized this is not my computer anymore, I can’t do anything with it that I want and I am paying premium to own this system.

Moved to Ubuntu, loved it but had some things I did not like, things like forcefull integration of not matured system changes on already proven systems (the rust saga), and other things. Moved to arch and I have been personally using Linux for close to 3 years and never looked back.

All the things I nerd work, those that I want and don’t work natively I can try and run somehow and often it works often I have to find an alternative. The things that do not work anymore I don’t nerd them. Like ms office, adobe (some already work natively or cloud based), and kernel level anti cheat games… I can save my time in to other games. 99% of the games I want run flawlessly or EVEN better than windows, I wonder why hahah.

Planing to move to fedore for a change at the end of the year :)

Ow yeah 100%, just A case for reusability, repairability, and longevity. This might help users to extend the life of their computers, thus long term lower costs for the user itself when extending the life of the machine.

I got a framework some time ago, best decision ever. I can upgrade anything and everything on my laptop when I want, how I want, where I want.

I work in Siemens (big tech) and I have a small business. On the side my brother in law has a middle sized business and I have worked for them in the past.

You working for IT for yeara is like me breathing air, everybody works for IT, unless argument. Maybe its even proof that you are out of touch, as you live in your IT sector bubble and think the real world works as your corporate IT job procedurea. Its in fact working against your argument when I think about it.

PDFs have literally zero crap to do with juggling excels back and forth and word documents used as templates that have to be edited constantly in small to middle sized business.

you have obviously never dealt with businesses first hand. I work in big tech, and you cant do that here eater. It has to be done naturally, you cant do that in a fast pace business work flow, you will simply loose clients and money because you are too slow, asking people to change their habits, and waiting for someone to convert something that they forgot to convert it because you feel like a special snowflake and you want your pancakes done in a special way.

I have games on steam that are not sold anymore and are supported by valve, I can download them, I can discuss with people about thrm, they work flawlessly, but they are not sold anymore.
