The etiquette of atrocity: disciplining how we talk about the violence America is built upon

    People like to single out the state violence record of any president like they’ve never paid attention to history. Practically all US presidents in recent history are the same. Only Jimmy Carter has been light in military operations, though they exist.

    Singling out Obama is particularly annoying, because all they did is still conduct the same senseless violence as usual, but update the technology to drones: wow.

    People notice the tradition of violent foreign policy, hate it, & don’t understand why the government acts like it’s necessary (probably dickheads trained in the same dickhead institutions pushing the same dickhead political theories), but there doesn’t seem to much popular will to end it.
