President Donald Trump said Wednesday that U.S. forces had seized a “very large” oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela, a major move against the South American country.

“As you probably know, we have just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela, a large tanker, very large, the largest one ever seized actually,” Trump said at an event at the White House.

The White House did not provide additional details about the vessel. A person familiar with the matter, granted anonymity to discuss the sensitive seizure, said the ship was en route to Cuba. The oil, the person said, would be sold by state firm Cubametales to Asian energy brokers.

Some facts from the article as people just talk without reading :

The tanker with Panamenian flag is owned by a company in the Marshall Islands. Was carrying Venezuelan AND Iranian oil. Triton navigation, the owner company is known to support a global oil smuggling network supporting Hezbollah. This company is in the list of special designated nationals. Pointed at the intention to disarticulate a worldwide network of crude smuggling providing a lifeline to illegal organizations and the Venezuelan Regime.

The main point of context here is the Venezuelan government is unaccountable for money and oil trafficked across nations including China, Cuba and Iran.

This provides cash and logistics to illegal groups AND the Venezuelan regime who lost the July 2024 elections and stayed in power beyond their own proposed electoral audits and without providing final tallies by election center.

So while the actions of the US government might seem rushed and downright illegal, the oil movements are also unclear in nature including financial beneficiaries.

I am waiting for someone in the Trump administration to explain the five Ws of this and how this benefits the US citizens and is not just a new episode of world police I. Full force.
