Donald Trump has said he might block ExxonMobil from investing in Venezuela after the oil company’s chief executive called the country “uninvestable” during a White House meeting last week.

Darren Woods told the US president that Venezuela would need to change its laws before it could be an attractive investment opportunity, during the high-profile meeting on Friday with at least 17 other oil executives.

Woods’ sceptical remarks quickly emerged as the dominant headline, undercutting the White House’s hopes of building momentum from its engagement with the world’s most prominent oil executives.

"I didn’t like Exxon’s response,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One on his way back to Washington on Sunday. “I’ll probably be inclined to keep Exxon out. I didn’t like their response. They’re playing too cute.”

Exxon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Exxon was just holding out for the us to underwrite loans for the investment there I suspect. Prez probably will as extracting money from the federal government is their primary mission in life, for congress as well, in both parties.

The us will shell out benefits for oil companies to make a killing for no benefit to the us citizens paying for it. Exxon and their investors pay less tax than we do.

Then resistance to foreigners stealing oil and polluting will lead to guerillas and the de facto government, the generals that gave up maduro and stood down on hitting us helicoptors, (no question, the us would not have tried that mission without that agrrement helicoptors are vulnerable to multiple weapons that mobilized ven. had at the ready at one of their most protected sites. Truck mounted machine guns, rpg’s, manpads, other shoulder fired russian anti made weapons, etc.) will stamp it out, making paramilitaries to do the collective punishment type death squads through villages around unrest that will be financed through cia fronts in the drug and weapons black markets.

Exxon likely forsees all of that and the liabilities it would bring. The US will likely have to pay them, they kickback to leaders, oil makes them money eventually, with no benefit to us taxpayers or venezuelans, and indeed repression.

Jesus fuck you people and your both sides. Shit is disingenuous and carries water for maga. Fucking without fail every bitch bringing up both sides is either a Russian propagandist or a MAGAt with some shame. And it always reads like copy paste from a gpt because none of y’all can think for yourselves. So. Which are you? Or you just stupid enough to actually think both sides are the same?

Both sides primarily serve rich people at the expense of working people, and both sides support genocide abroad, but the Dems don’t want to kill gay people, so they are totally different.

Oil majors want subsidies, loan guarentees. Congress will give it to them.

Your ad hominems are clearly a weak lazy attempt to derail my point for other reasons. Those making such unfounded emotional allegations are themselves the ones guiltu of those things in my experience.

Since reason is not on your side, to curtail discussion of some subject, like the us having performed a military coup not what we are shown, and how it will play out, I suspect is what you are tryimg to quiet by yelling libels. A tactic the president and his party no doubt taught you, their disciple, busy snitch jacketing for those leaders that have nothing but contempt for you, and are actively lowering your standard of living. Both the r’s and the d’s on that one as well as borrowing trillions at every opportunity being their raison de etre. It is pathetic.

Lazy ad hominems. I hope you are getting paid because we would know the client’s money is being more wasted than not.

Cannot even say bootlicker as those you are trying to help are wearing italian leather. Never worn a real boot in their lives.

I love how you respond with an ad hominem attack to a comment you labeled as ad hominem.

My comment was a joke. I can tell you’re a Russian bot because of the lack of humor detection.

Idk how much I can respond freely to snitch jacketing bootlickers. I know how much trolls flag comments.
