In my cars, the steering was physically connected to the wheel. You could lose the power steering, and have to muscle it, but there is no way for hackers, or a software glitch, to make the steering wheel not turn the wheels when it’s turned.
It’s reckless to build it so it’s just connected by electrical signals and software, not even hard wired in so it can’t be overridden? It’s suspect they would want to set it up like that not just reckless.
