Either way you’re going to be serving the regime. At least in the military you can do it with some dignity and gain useful experience that can help you when you get out. That’s not mentioning the better pay and benefits that go along with it.
There is no dignity in serving the military of a dying, amoral empire. Negative dignity, in fact.
