A new gene therapy is giving people born deaf the chance to hear, often within just weeks. In a small but groundbreaking study, researchers delivered a working copy of a key hearing gene directly into the inner ear using a single injection. All ten patients, ranging from young children to adults, experienced improved hearing, with some showing rapid gains in just one month.

Yeah okay, like you didn’t assume I’m deaf and say my ears are broken. Acting like all people are the same as those who harassed you. Maybe take out your anger on the actual people involved in your life instead of dishing it out to an entire group and hiding behind this story. Your last paragraph is pure projection.

I realized I was little inebriated when I last responded to you and didn’t fully comprehend your comment. I wasn’t calling you deaf. I was using the royal you referring to deaf people in general. You’re still just a self-righteous prick. My apology meant nothing and you are ignorant of what goes on in the deaf community, so stop.

You’re a pussy looking for vengeance. Put your shit into the world and the world observes.

nah, just trying to educate an ignorant person on something with which they know nothing about. what are your qualifications in talking about the deaf community? because please, I’d love to know your background. we know you’re not deaf, so is a family member deaf? a friend? how involved are you in the community? are you an asl interpreter? how involved are you in fighting active legislation that has chilling effects on the deaf populous? what do you do?

my previous point still stands, you were fighting about something which you knew nothing. yeah, I’m still mad as hell at the deaf community. but I don’t need vengeance. you clearly have limited emotional understanding if you can’t comprehend that anger is a valid emotion and separate from vengeance, an action. jeez, you’re just so ignorant.

Well, I’m not sorry I was rash. When a large group of people represent a community, and actively hurt people, you can’t be surprised when those hurt people are contemptuous toward that community. Same reason, people hate insert religion.

You’re just a whiny brat, trying to find your place in the world, focusing on identity for yourself, or others, so that you can feel like you belong and pious that you defended a minority group. Just focus on making human connections and be nice and stop this tribalism bullshit.

Feel free to respond with all the work you do for the deaf. I’ll be on the phone lobbying for them.

edit: changed apology, person is annoying.

edit2: why did you harp on the ears broke thing btw? deaf people’s ears are broken lmao. just like blind people can’t see. the deaf community does the most harmful thing which is, make deaf people think that’s all they can be. ugh, you are such an ignorant, awful person.
