A U.S. Navy warship lost power and propulsion after suffering from an “electrical malfunction” while sailing in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command region. CBS News reported that a fire broke out aboard the USS Higgins on Tuesday. Cmdr. Matthew Comer, a spokesperson for the U.S. 7th Fleet, said in a statement to The Hill that the electrical malfunction may have produced “sparking or smoke that ceased once power was removed.” The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer experienced an “engineering casualty” to its “electrical distribution system,” he said. There were no injuries to the crew onboard and the power has been restored to the ship, which was commissioned in 1999, Comer added. Investigations of the incident are ongoing. The vessel, which carries about 300 sailors and is homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, lost power and propulsion for several hours, CNN reported, citing a Defense official.

    Meh…

They had an electrical fire and cut power and propulsion as a reaction to that…

That is not the same as an incident taking out power and propulsion, that’s just how you deal with electrical fires when there’s no other emergency

        You are the Zionist,

I’ve been called a lot of things, but that’s ridiculous.

that just got promoted to moderator

“Just” as in two years ago? (Honestly probably closer to 3 I guess)

that is Banning people for criticizing israel.

I banned an account that reported five non-rule brraling comments in five minutes, and replied to all of them trying to start slapfights.

A quick look at their profile showed they were the type of user that is incapable of letting anything go, they’d keep replying to the same threads for days having the same arguments and causing drama.

I had second thoughts for a very brief window, then they started spamming threads all, sending me DMs insulting me and my family in broken English, and banned me from a community I already had blocked.

Which is what I wanted to spare users of the community I moderated. And honestly? I should have done it long ago, I had that account on my blocklist for probably a very long time, I only took them off when I saw the report spam.

So yeah, I feel completely justified in removing users like that…

But like, you want to complain about moderation?

Go talk to the guy who can’t let anything go:

        https://lemmy.world/modlog/1471856

That’s the guy who started everything you just repeated

        Edit:

But that’s as much as I’m gonna say about it, I’m not getting roped into another long re-litigation about banning a troll.

5 Zionist comments denying Israel war crimes. How do you shamelessly allow this kind of comments
