Authorities recover $1.3 million worth of data center supplies and equipment in a truck stop near Chicago. Equipment like this is a prime target for theft rings given its high value, but it's also likely difficult to sell given its specialized nature.
There have been some really dramatic things done in the past couple of years that weren’t mentioned in the media. We all know about Brian Thompson meeting one of the Mario Bros, but you dont hear about what happened to Wesley Leplatner. We heard about the TP warehouse ("all you had to do is pay us enough to live) but you haven’t heard about any of the others.
The pattern seems to be: Thing happens to rich person/big company. Thing is mentioned on the news. The public reacts the “wrong” way. Then the media doesn’t mention all the other times it happens.
Yup, at least this time the rich were smart enough to know not to point out how vulnerable there inventory sec is so more people don’t get ideas this time round.
I have wasted a significant portion of my adult life in warehouses. Most of them have very little security, sometimes physical barriers, but nothing that can’t be defeated.
