Space Elevator! Just in time for Kessler Syndrome!
What’s the likelihood that we could build a net to clean up/catch debris?
“But at what cost?”
What does T1200-grade mean? I know T1000 from the early 90s James Cameron Movie. Is T1200 better or worse?
Better for some applications, worse for others. Carbon fiber grades go up in strength but simultaneously also go up in stiffness, meaning they also get worse at handling impacts and flexing. Usually awful for hobbyist carbon fiber projects, only really useful for things like spacecraft and fighter planes.
T1200 has a tensile strength of up to 1,160 Kp/sqare inch
Thanks to these superior advantages, the material can be widely applied in strategic emerging industries such as aerospace, the low-altitude economy and humanoid robotics.
Super-strength fiber used in humanoid what-now?
20 years ago this would have sounded so exciting, and the doomers would have been declared to “have just seen too many movies”.
Now its just scary.
If you had to chose between America having humanoid robots or China having them China sounds a lot less scary.
china has been investing heavy on developing humanoid robots.
Hey! I’m starting a cool company. Have you ever wondered what you could do with a few of your millions of spare dollars?
I have the answer! The answer is a pressure vessel that we will gently seal with high strength screws with you inside. We will drop it in the ocean where the Titanic sank. You can steer it with a Nintendo Switch controller! Isn’t that cool???
It only goes down thought. But you can steer it.
