My kindle screen got damaged and I don’t find a place to repair it; here at the third world(I’m from Colombia). I decided to buy this baby on temu, it hasn’t arrived yet and it seems like delayed in transit, however I was wondering if you had trice devices different than kindle, Kobo, pocketbook. As a Foss enthusiasm, I like an open software such as android instead Amazon. When I had tried to get out my books from my kindle, it didn’t let me, by USB the epubs weren’t epubs anymore, that’s the reason why I don’t buy kindle anymore. Has you tried an Android device with e-ink technology? I think that it will be the future

Yeah, I’ve got one of the small boox. Runs android, something like ten or eleven? I think.

It does okay despite the weak ram amount. I use moon+ for all my android reading as long as it’ll work. And it does fine on that one. Notably, it does better than the native boox reader by a big margin, particularly with a big library.

You get a little lag switching between books, and some tiny flicker switching pages, but it’s otherwise quite nice. I prefer it to my older kobo for sure, and it ancient nookHD for sure. But I still prefer reading on a regular tablet with a decent screen overall because it’s easier to get a dark (but not black) background with white text, which is what my eyes prefer.
