Liberals in America are specifically ideologically aligned with capitalism because this is the overwhelming majority position in the US and indeed in Europe as well. A liberal may hold positions you disagree with but they will let you espouse them and if you get enough people to vote with you a liberal won’t interfere with your vote nor refuse to leave.
