A newly unveiled statue of the rightwing activist Charlie Kirk was vandalized at the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
The statue was found with red spray-paint. A nearby poster memorial in front of the statue was vandalized with red paint as well.
The word tankie has nothing to do with MAGA lol, it was used in British left-wing circles originally to refer to the CPGB’s enthusiasm for the Russians crushing the Hungarians and Czechs with tanks. It was later generalised for anyone supporting violent aggression against civilians in a left wing context
It’s a word first used by left-wing people to dismiss other left-wing people for acting like Brezhnev’s personal knob polishers at the expense of the indigenous labour movement. It’s an accusation of being a lickspittle towards Moscow from the left which the right as usual doesn’t understand.
