20 days agoI used to change them but these days it’s usually just silenced on my computers. Changing system sounds used to be a great prank to do on someone else’s computer. You could change their login sound so they’d go through however much more of their day without knowing but the next day they’d log in and get blasted with the sound of ‘La Cucaracha’ or a pornstar moaning, depending on your target.
If you’re wanting to use software that’s most easily available on different distros, why not just use Distrobox? If you are just wanting to change the UI, why not just switch DEs? If you really need to be able to randomly switch away from/to system level differences, what are you doing? What would necessitate that?
