if you can sell your phone, and buy the one you want second hand,

you might be able to land a compatible device without any financial lose.

On a side note, if you have a Chromebook or other laptops/desktops, you can reformat the BIOS to give you better control, more security, and less backdoors.

Phones are usually easier to find compatibility than tablets. If you check the websites for those operating systems, you will see what devices are compatible.

Concerning apps, you will be able to run 99% for your apps. There are odd rare cases where some may not work. For those, you may find success by installing them through https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.aurora.store/ instead of the through the Google Play Store.

One is particular feature that doesn’t work is using the NFC wallet feature on phones, but you shouldn’t use those anyways because you’re giving an extra cut away to Google, Samsung, or Apple, on top of credit card fees from Mastercard, Visa, or the like.

Some banks apps don’t work on Graphene. All of mine never have any problems. Don’t use Brave.

Also use CoMaps with RHVoice.

Signal, and its improved client app, Molly, works great on Graphene without any issues.

Honestly all my apps worked, even my banking app. I had one weird case where an unpopular app did not work, but I had contacted the Devs of that app, and it soon got resolved – I’m not sure if I helped.

So now, all my apps works without any issues.

Too many features. I should have mentioned that I want it very limited. For example, to give to clients to restart game servers.

Edit: Cockpit is great! But to give remote access to full user-level shell access is not something I want. It might have access to other features I would want to avoid like installing software. Instead I want strictly it to commands like,

• Backup,
• Restore,
• Restart
• Update,
• Modify config files,
• File download,
• File upload

Its good, but note that it will not save your passwords by default.

Use Molly as your Signal client instead. It solves this.

That’s fair, but even then it might break when I update it. I think rotating containers on which one I update is the way to go so I always have 1 running.

I’ve never tried this technique but I’m curious to try it out.
