Are you dense? That’s not the question.

Depends. Are they still making negative money with it? If so, then I’m gonna say no.
It’s kind of like robbing a bank, killing everyone inside, then running out without taking anything, dropping your wallet in the process

Nah, it won’t be an apocalypse. Just more of the dystopia we’re all completely accustomed to. You’ll get ads based on the content of your blood. Police will show up at your door minutes after you ingest any illegal drug. And you know that thing where LinkedIn and dating apps are like “we may or may not have found you a match, pay us to find out!” You’ll get notifications like that about cancer.
The internet is already dead, brah. We are the bacteria that continue to live on in the corpse while it decomposes.

Yawn. Anyone who has taken LSD could have told you reality is composed of fractals all the way down, many decades ago.
I literally don’t care at all what people do to resist ICE. Go buck wild, you won’t hear me complaining. I’m literally just saying that characterizing this as a silly little prank is lying when the intention is obviously to cause real physical harm. I do hope that this doesn’t lead to innocent people getting hurt though. Odds are they just salted it the next day anyway.
I don’t know, man. I’m not a statistician, I’m just going off what they reported. I thought we all kinda agreed the CDC was one of the last reputable parts of our government.
It’s an obvious public safety risk, seeing as the government takes action to mitigate the risk everywhere it gets icy every single year. Besides that, if we are placing anecdotes above official reporting, I only really know about this danger because my dad had a friend who was young and healthy who died from smacking his head on the sidewalk after slipping on ice.
You know how sarcasm works right? The comment is obviously downplaying the risk, same as pretty much every other comment on this post. Like damn. If I could have replied to all of the comments here I would have but I chose to reply to this one. I’m not even saying don’t trap the roads, I’m just saying we don’t need to be bullshitting about it online.
Listen I hate ICE as much as the next guy but portraying slipping on ice as harmless is dishonest at best. Slipping and falling is very likely to result in hospitalization or death (over a third of the time, according to the CDC)
We can discredit ICE without distorting reality. All distorting reality does is discredit OURSELVES.
You know, I remember not too long ago when people on Lemmy tried to interpret each other charitably. Then everyone from Reddit came over, polluting the culture, and now practically every exchange on here feels like it’s in bad faith.
