The separate communities across instances is a benefit of federation just like separate posts are a benefit over a single thread for everythjngs. Yes, features that allow them to be combined for those that want that way of interacting is great, but we don’t need a single news community between all instances when there are can be massive differences between instances.

Agreed, and legal systems that deny anyone the right to vote are not democracies.

Prisoners are members of society and therefore have the right to vote in any democracy. Even treason and mass murder do not justify removing their right to vote. The only scenario where prisoners voting would have a disproportionate impact are are prisons in low population remote locations, which could easily be worked around by their residency being based on their location before incarceration.

Legally it is not a war because the president cannot declare war.

Even the non-wars frequently called wars had congressional funding explicitly for those actions, like in Vietnam and Iraq. This isn’t technically war and isn’t recognized as warfare by anyone outside the executive branch and they do not have that authority.

It is blatantly clear that this does not count as war for what the administration is trying to use to justify the actions.

No other country or combination of countries can stop the US military if it backs him. Honestly I don’t see anything stopping him except the US military at this point and that would be extremely improbable.

The thing I’m talking about is that contesting unconstitutional laws requires someone to suffer first. That is how the system works.

The way it works is fucking stupid. Backing down from enforcing an unconstitutional law because you aren’t enforcing it right now means people must suffer from unconstitutional laws instead of avoiding their negative impact.

Walking is what we evolved to do. While being a pedestrian in certain parts of cities is dangerous, tons of walking is done away from vehicles.
