The world’s richest man is obsessed with putting Neuralink chips in people’s brains and integrating their minds with AI. He can’t be trusted with this technology.

They will be working on courts to make brain chip implants conditions of parole, if not conditions of bail.

Our courts are fascist enough, hate the undesirables enough, and are as cravenly devoted to the powerful of society to enthusiastically do it too. Prosecutors and judges, we have all the wrong people in charge.

Don’t Let Elon Musk Implant a Device in Your Skull

    He can’t be trusted

    Thank you, Captain Obvious.

That said, I can understand the draw for people who have disabilities who would benefit from these tools. It could be life changing.

It’s sad that society seems to rely on insane billionaires to move science forward over properly funded state healthcare and research.

The immediate result of this overdrive was roughly 1,500 dead animals, either killed directly by Neuralink’s experiments or euthanized afterward.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but “move fast and break things” is being taken very literally in Musk’s companies, even when those things are living things.

We’d heard of the bypassing regulations too, like around pollution and planning when building AI server farms, and that’s fully present here.

I can understand the draw for people who have disabilities who would benefit from these tools. It could be life changing.

But we’re talking about AI here. And AI simply isn’t there yet, It should stay within the constraints of IT laboratories for at least another 10 years. But…

Musk is no longer content with healing the sick and injured. (edit: or helping the disabled)

Suddenly, we’re talking about a third-party brain implant with access to all of your thoughts and imagination.

We think that it’s actually possible to (…) speak to the latest AI model, or LLM models, at the speed of thought

What Seo is describing here is a form of ChatGPT (or more accurately Grok, Musk’s anti-woke version) implanted directly in your brain. It’s hard to imagine a more pointless technology

Streaming music directly into the brain sounds like a recipe for migraines. Unfamiliar auditory signals are exhausting at least for the deaf/hard of hearing

It would be interesting to experience once but I think it would be uncomfortable or even disorienting in the long run. Like tinnitus but with a beat.

I’d say sinister technology very soon. All together now!

Always good advice. No matter the person or group really. Just don’t let anyone implant a device in your skull and you will rarely if ever make a bad decision in this regard.

LOL! It’s elon musk, a pedophile nazi. No words are off limits to describe him or his ilk.

so instead of using terrible words that accurately describe him, you want to use words that hurt other people way more than they hurt the person adresssed and that criticise a characteristic that is not negative?

          is nazi not bad enough?

          Imaginary scenario:

You’re at war, the enemies are closing in on the edges of your base. Everyone is using modern weapons, and each attack is precise and deliberate. You, watching your fellow soldiers fall in tandem with scores of the enemy, have decided that enough is enough. You’re gonna pull out the big guns and end this already!

So, you roll a cannon to the center of your base, and start firing chain balls while rotating a few degrees between shots. Sure, each volley from you is likely to do some crazy damage to the enemy. But you’re primarily ripping through your own forces and defenses with no concern for whoever stands between you and your enemy. If your fellow soldiers didn’t know any better, they’d think that your entire goal was to attack your own team.

Don’t use archaic insults that are guaranteed to hurt your friends. You have no clue if the subject of your attack is even paying attention (he’s not), and they’re going to get far more delight out of how offended your friends are by your words.

Ok, can you not? I’ve been called that word just 'cause I have ADHD and am a little slow at times. So even though it’s not directed at me I still don’t like it. It’s not an “okay” word.

We all stopped using that word. I honestly believe that Elon Musk has mental challenges. Seriously, he’s not a genius, he’s mentally ill, and mentally challenged, and addicted to drugs and the yes-men-ism you get when everyone kisses your ass.

As the above comment goes, I agree with the sentiment but not with the language.

I’d go further: seize all his assets and redistribute them. That will never happen though.

Most of his assets are in meme stocks, not cash (otherwise he would need to pay taxes, completely unacceptable for him)

Tesla stocks are 1000x the real value and Will crash as soon he’s no more the CEO.

Same for SpaceX shares that have artificially inflated value from a bullshit valuation of xitter+xai. Not being a public company they can value that at any price, it’s not actually worth the 1 trillion they claim themselves

He is no where near the richest person in the world in intrinsic wealth you are right. But when will prices come back to reality? Because it’s been inflated so long, is it possible the US government bailing the rich out of downturns has fundamentally changed the economy and pricing of securities?
