Swedish healthcare is so bad rn. Since right wing parties got the government the queues to adult mental health care has increased tremendously. I am waiting for an autism evaluation and the avgerage wait time is 2 years. Even worse for trans people where the queue time tripled, from 2 years to 6 years.
It infuriaties me how other politicians point out that this is the longest health care queue times we’ve ever had and still the Christian Democrats need to respond “its actually deceasing!”. Like yeah both could be true, sadly they probably arent. But its great we found out private healthcare company Kry funnelled millions of crowns via salesmen asking people in public to just sign them as their healthcare giver. Not even doing shit just registering new people as clients gets you funds from the government so that great.
Can we chop a finger off of Uffe and Jimmie for every year the queue increases? 🤔
It is really all over the entire spectrum of Swedish healthcare going down the drain. Cutbacks and savings everywhere in the public sector to fund tax cuts that are huge for the economic elites and marginal for everyone else. Deporting young people that are well integrated in Swedish society with work and paying taxes and have no connection to their parents former homeland. Yet people vote for the right wing and our social democrats are ideologically lost while trying to appeal to right wing voters and tip toeing across the center. I think it will become worse and that this is exactly the extremist breeding ground that the far right nationalist party SD (unsurprisingly more or less openly nazi only thirty years ago) have in their long term plan for power.
I don’t know who those guys are, but as a rule of thumb don’t cut people’s fingers off. Go for their family members instead. People will go through a lot of pain personally, but the added emotional stress of protecting a loved one makes them cave in much faster.
TL;DR I don’t really understand these numbers. I mean I’ll believe them when we’re the best Scandinavian country, but i still don’t understand.
Danish queues for a non emergency psychiatric evals are similar to yours. I realize that my meds aren’t working properly right now. The rest of this paragraph is just me making a convoluted rant about queues. There’s a single psychiatrist with just 12 weeks wait, right dab smack in middle of the country, but that’s most certainly an error, because everyone else in a 100km radius is +80weeks. The next best queues are +45 weeks if you want to travel to Sealand several times ( which in my case can be +120€ per trip) if you insist on not going to Sealand, then the queues start at 80 weeks, and if I limit my traveltime by car to an hour, then it’s 120 weeks… The psychiatrist that evaluated my ADHD had about a queue of about 75 weeks back then, now the same place is reporting a queue of 300 weeks, that’s 6 fucking years. I mean you can sign up, and hope that people in front of you die of old age.
And the stupid thing is, that it’s all artificial. Most psychiatrists could see more patients, but they’re only allowed to bill a certain amount of hours to the government. And only psychiatrists are allowed to start people on ADHD meds.
Of course, if you can spend 2k €, or happen to have private healthcare insurance through your job, then there’s no queue. But the rest of us are just fucked.
So why are we better at healthcare? It’s definitely not psychiatric care. Maybe we live longer? IDK.
Who says it can’t be both cheap child molestration AND healthcare? I mean you’re going to contract something eventually when raping kids, better go somewhere where it can be treated…
