Don’t ever compare anything to NS Germany.

Nothing compares to it. If you think that it is the case you don’t have a fucking clue about the horrors that happened there.

The Nazis were absolutely evil, but what’s interesting about them is that they are universally hated largely because they merely brought the horrors of colonialism home to Europe. They found inspiration from Jim Crow and Statesian settler-colonialism, from British, French, and Belgian colonialism in India, Africa, and more. They took inspiration for concentration camps from colonial holdings. The Nazis colonized Europe, which thought itself untouchable beforehand, which is why the horrors of the Nazis are universally known and understood while the comparable evils of colonialism and settler-colonialism are erased.

Hitler was a Hitler for Europe, Churchill was a Hitler for India, etc. Churchill gets a pass because his victims weren’t white.

You had ethnic cleansing of Turks in Greece and the other way around as well, the Holodomor in Ukraine and a lot more when you go back in history. It was not new, but just easier to do outside of Europe for Western European countries. For example Spain committed genocide against the Muslims in Iberia, before going to the Americas.

The 1930s soviet famine was not an attempt at colonialism, nor intentional. At best, it was made worse by mismanagement, but to compare it to colonialism or the Holocaust is a severe misrepresentation of it. Genocide and atrocities predated colonialism, this is true, but the point is that Hitler is so uniquely despised among the world at a universal level precisely due to the fact that he directed colonialism towards the rest of Europe. Western powers were no stranger to the kinds of brutal torture committed by the Nazis, their victims were just largely non-white.

Hitler did literally look at Border Patrol in the US and went neat. I can use these policies for my regime. Thats the comparison. These policies, when followed through to their natural conclusion, end up where Germany went. It’s quite literally the canary in coal mine situation. People are saying, this is a warning.

Very specifically, Zyklon-B, the gas used to kill millions of Jews and others, was used y the US, on the Mexican border, as a delousing agent

      Um.

You know they have camps over there now, people are kidnapped off the streets and can not be traced by legal means.

I agree about the no clue horrors part, but they’ve gone a long way towards it already.

I know. This literally is the tip of the ice berg. If you think Nazis were bad because of camps you utterly underestimate what happened there.

Edit: “Facism is on the rise there", I agree. “NS Germany was like the current US,” is ignorant.

Uh, the Nazis literally used US decisions to force sterilize low iq people as a defense at the Nuremberg trials.

WW2 was absolutely a case of the us being evil, and the Nazis being so much more evil that they had to be stopped, that doesn’t mean there were not similarities, and we should definitely not write out that chapter of history the way we have

They got the eugenics part from the US.
The Arian race was the German version of the US Nordic race.

Nothing compares to the Nazi, they are super special. Actually nothing can be ever compared to hitler or (do I dare to say it) the hologram! We europeans are just too special, the center of attention, where the history is written and lived. Actually culture outside of it doesn’t exist at all.
