So I ditched KDE completely since my last post. What do you think of my setup so far? I tweaked it a little, including new hotkeys and software.
Environment:
- CachyOS
- NiriWM
- Noctalia (custom themed)
Extra Software (some custom shortcuts made for):
- Satty (screenshot tool)
- Swaylock (Customized SDDM)
- kitty
- Adguard-cli
- Picocrypt (CLI)
- Namida (music player highly recommended for Linux and Android; also works on degoogled phones).
Question: Is it strange to use SDDM with Niri? Some folks switch to another DM.

With Niri (and other wlroots based compositors), a lot of people prefer using “greetd” instead of SDDM.

I use Niri on NixOS with DMS (waiting till Noctalia v5 to be out of beta before trying it) and made the switch from sddm to greetd, and im pretty happy with it.
