I laughed so hard at that, and then again on the layover when they revealed Ben had spotted Sam another time before this but Sam didn’t catch it on camera. I think it was in Japan Sam realised he couldn’t win and just sort of gave up entirely, it was a lot more fun this time watching him just fuck with the guys for an hour for content.
Haven’t finished the episode yet but I did yell out “for fucks sake” when they revealed Ben was in England again. There must be at best two more runs this season and we’ve not had a single other UK country
I was so convinced Sam had found the meta with that swan move and then they found the laziest pigeons in the world. The time trap move was great but it still feels a little underpowered, ten minutes an hour isn’t a huge penalty at all. Would’ve been great though if he could’ve cast the express curse twice and ping-ponged them back and forth between London and Coventry for ages.
I hope someone goes to Wales or Scotland soon (I assume NI is a no go because of there being so few rail lines + being separated by the sea). Or else it’ll just be Hide + Seek England.
Agree on the time trap, when the chasers are closing in so quickly it would have been better to delay instead of trying a bluff that can be easily circumvented by a question
That kid berating Ben for coming to a shit down and threatening to steal his phone felt very English. I got a good laugh from Sam and Adam pointing at the most generic countryside stone wall in the photo and going “he must be hiding down by the canals!” as if those walls aren’t everywhere as well
I’d been waiting all season for a Northern Ireland run and I’m a bit sad about it not happening but it would have been difficult to do to be fair. They were counting ferry terminals as part of the map but not airports so you’d only really have Liverpool and Stranraer to plan an NI run from, and the ferry iirc takes about two hours which cuts a good chunk out of the hider’s head start. There’s so few stops here and if you want to film somewhere really scenic that’s within walking distance of a train station you’d be left with the north coast and Derry.
Sam and Ben mentioned having Irish citizenship so an all-Ireland season should be pretty feasible, though Adam would technically need two visas even if that’s never really enforced. Maybe something like battleships with the county map divided in half.
