New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez is accusing the US Justice Department of withholding access to unredacted files related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, arguing that the lack of cooperation is preventing the state from bringing justice to survivors.

“Every day that the USDOJ withholds these records, the foundation upon which a New Mexico prosecution could be built erodes,” Torrez wrote in a scathing letter to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche on June 30 that was publicly released on Thursday.

“Witnesses relocate and become unreachable. Memories, already strained by years of trauma, fade further. Physical and documentary evidence degrades, is lost, or is rendered more difficult to authenticate with the passage of time,” Torrez added.

If the majority of this administration ends up anywhere other than gallows, swiftly after the 2029 election, democracy is lost.

If that happens you can be sure republicans will be finding any flimsy reason they can to hang democrats next time they’re in power.

Nope. We saw how that worked with the Jan 6 insurrectionists. We can no longer leave the possibility of undoing it.

I think us doing a bad job at hanging them would be the preferable way to do it. Maybe it’ll take two or three tries, but we’ll get there in the end.

Give them the MAGA quality execution they’ve earned, and deserve.

At the end of WWII, there were a lot of local military trials of Nazi shitheads, and many were executed by deliberately using short drop hangings, in which the body doesn’t drop far enough to snap the neck, and they just strangle slowly as they dangle.

In fact, the primary executioner at Nuremburg was a rank amateur, who lied about having previous execution experience. Yet the American military put him in charge anyway, and as a result, many of the executions were botched, resulting in mumerous agonizing Nazi deaths. Totally by accident. Right. Oh well.

I can go either way. In both cases, their supporters will be scared back into their mothers’ basements to rot for eternity.

I think there are other acceptable options, there’s the guillotine, firing squad, electric chair, drawing and quartering, iron maiden, pendulum, and more!

Yes, did it take this long to figure out that’s the plan?

Well they dug up all the gravesites on the ranch and any bodies in them had been moved, so case closed. plus the state didnt make sex trafficcing a crime until 2008 and the crimes only started being investigated in 2019 with a 10 year statue of limitation, so I guess that sex trafficcing is past its statutes of limitations-- so no crime occurred. Again, case closed. And the Israeli ambassador would like to know who is going to clean up the damage incurred on the property by all these searches. I assume the US government will pay them our tax money for the damages.
